Gulf Coast Beaches

Gulf Coast beaches stretch all along the Gulf Coast region of the US. Every state along the Gulf Coast has at least one or two beaches if not miles and miles of pristine coastline. States like Texas and Florida have hundreds of miles of beaches along the Gulf Coast while other Gulf states have smaller beach areas.

Texas has a very long coastline filled with pristine sandy beaches. Galveston is one of the oldest coastal resorts along the Gulf Coast. With hard packed sand that allows you to drive your car right up to the beach, Galveston is a party beach like no other.

Corpus Christi is the gateway to the 110 mile long Padre Island National Seashore. Here you'll find beautiful bluish water and an ideal spot for beachcombing. Padre Island itself is a popular destination for winter "snowbirds" and college students during Spring Break.

Louisiana, unlike its large neighbor, has very few beaches. Of all the miles of shoreline there are really only two that are accessible to the public. The muddy waters of the Mississippi River Delta leaves only Holly Beach and Grande Island for beachgoers.

Mississippi has a relatively small coastline compared to the other Gulf Coast states. Most of the coastline in Mississippi is filled with resorts and hotels that look out onto the many barrier islands of the Mississippi Sound.

Take a boat trip to the Gulf Islands National Seashore to get away from it all and experience sparkling blue water and white sands. For more information on Mississippi beaches visit Chiff.com's Mississippi Beach Update.

Alabama enjoys the sugar white sand that is found throughout Florida's panhandle. The beaches of Alabama have great sand and beautiful waters. Here there are many beautiful beach areas like Orange Beach, Perdido Key, and Dauphin Island that have attracted beachgoers for generations.

From the natural beauty of the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge to the pristine beaches of Gulf State Park there are plenty of places to get away from the hustle and bustle and chill out on the beach. For more information on Alabama's beaches visit Alabama's Gulf Shores.

The Gulf Coast beaches of Florida are routinely named some of the best beaches in America. Its no wonder, though. From the emerald waters of the Northwest region to the state park beaches of the Southwest region, there are beaches to suit everyone's tastes.

Beachcombers flock to the Sanibel Islands of the West Central region while snowbirds spend winters on the Emerald Coast or the Southwest region. Dr. Beach has lots of information on Florida and other Gulf Coast beaches.
